If your books aren't done by the date in your agreement — fully reconciled, properly labeled, and ready for your accountant — we keep working at no extra charge until they are.
For the guarantee to apply
- You give us access (QuickBooks, bank, credit card) within 5 business days of signing the agreement.
- You respond to our questions within 48 business hours during the work.
- The work is what we agreed to in the package, not new work added later.
What the guarantee doesn't cover
- A bigger job than the package you signed for. If your situation turns out to be more complex than what we agreed to, we'll tell you and offer a revised package — we don't absorb the extra work for free.
- Delays caused by access we don't get or questions we can't get answered.
- Work that isn't bookkeeping cleanup — old tax returns, fraud investigations, payroll, advisory work.

How is this different from Bench, Pilot, or other online bookkeeping services?
Bench and Pilot are software platforms with bookkeepers (often overseas) doing the data entry. We're a CPA firm. The bookkeepers on your work are US-based, and the partners who could file your taxes oversee everything. By the time your accountant gets the books, they're already in the format your accountant expects.
How is this different from a local bookkeeper or freelancer?
Most local bookkeepers and freelancers charge by the hour and don't commit to a finish date. You sign on hoping the work will go well, and you pay whatever it adds up to. With Books Reset, you know the price and the finish date before you pay anything. And if we miss the date, we keep working at no charge.
What if I need ongoing bookkeeping after the cleanup?
We offer monthly bookkeeping as an optional next step. There's no obligation to keep going with us — many clients use Books Reset to hand a clean file off to a new bookkeeper of their choice.
What if I'm more than 12 months behind?
12+ months behind starts you in the Full package. The Full price covers up to 12 months of cleanup — for deeper history, we define final pricing on the call before you sign anything.
My books are in software other than QuickBooks or Xero. Can you still help?
Probably yes — answer "Other / not sure" on the questionnaire and we'll confirm on the call. If we can't do the work in your software, we'll tell you on the call rather than after you've paid.
What happens on the 20-minute call?
We confirm which package fits, walk through what you'll get, and answer any questions. If everyone agrees, we send the agreement and payment link during or right after the call. If something doesn't line up, you leave with the information and no obligation to continue.
Do you handle taxes too?
Yes — we're a full CPA firm and tax work is part of what we do. But it's a separate piece of work with its own price. The Books Reset is just the cleanup; if you want help with taxes after the books are clean, we can talk about it then.
What if I'm not ready right now?
