They specialize in hard chrome, electroless nickel, bright cadmium, low embrittlement cadmium, ti-cadmium and copper plating. In addition, they offer abrasive blasting, degreasing, passivation, nital etch inspection, magnetic inspection, penetrant inspection, chem film, prime and paint.

Aero Chrome Plating is part of the Gary Berger Family Trust that also includes 80 plus residential properties and a multi-unit storage facility.

Job Description

Basic Function: The Accounting & Finance Manager position is a hands-on role overseeing a full service metal plating and finishing business. The candidate will take ownership of all departments, including finance, legal, HR, facilities, IT, and logistics.

The ideal candidate has a thorough knowledge of metal plating operations, including lean manufacturing, and the experience to understand and manage the other aspects of the business. The candidate will also provide accounting and finance support to the trust and real estate holdings portfolio. We are looking for a candidate that can thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and is ready to work hard.

The Accounting & Finance Manager will manage the business team of 20 employees and will report directly to the executor of the trust.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the metal plating and finishing company - Business Unit P&L, EBIT, HR, and Finance on a daily basis
• Plan, direct, and coordinate operations in support of company growth
• Review and approve cost control reports, cost estimates, manpower, and facilities requirements forecasts
• Start and drive initiatives to completion, utilizing existing and new metrics and strategies, which will lead to breakthrough performance
• Continuously evaluate overall workflow, equipment and processes to ensure resources and manpower are allocated accordingly throughout the manufacturing process
• Administer the trust, including distribution of net income
• Oversee the real estate holdings’ financial and cash management operations and further define operating drivers of the company’s key financial metrics, set appropriate targets, and then drive departments to meet those goals
• Coordinate with the trust executor to respond to corporate action matters
• Complete and oversee various systems, positions, cash reconcilements, DDA, etc.
• Ensure that all transactions are in compliance with the trust agreement, state laws, and the Trust Investment Operations Manual (TIOM)

Minimum Requirements

• A 4 year degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years experience in an aerospace related business
• Project management experience
• Entrepreneurial spirit to take “calculated” risks
• Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
• Deep sense of accountability – Individual must become the champion of the business and must accept full responsibility to make things happen
• Financial acumen – Individual must have a thorough understanding of financial analysis to drive business decisions and track performance
• General knowledge of OSHA and HR
• Must be hands-on, but able to delegate appropriately with the ability to motivate, inspire and commit the organization to a course of action and achieve results.

• MBA degree or CPA designation
• Trust administration experience
• Certified Trust and Financial Advisor
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
• Affiliation with local government and/or development groups
• Previous relationships with financial institutions
• A successful track record in a metal related industry
